Awakened to Grace Epiphany Series - Beginning January 2026
Awakened to Grace invites congregations to begin the year by rediscovering the simple, transformative practices that open us to God’s presence — Prayer, Scripture, Silence, Fasting, Sabbath, and Service. This six-week Epiphany series provides complete worship materials, sermon examples, and practical tools to help your community grow in faith together. Each element — whether preached, sung, or shared online — helps awaken hearts to God’s grace made visible in ordinary life and everyday discipleship.
Awakened to Grace, where ordinary practices open us to extraordinary love.
Awakened to Grace: A Companion for Daily PracticesCarry each week’s worship theme into your everyday life with activities to guide you through each week's practice: prayer, scripture, silence, fasting, sabbath, and service. A Great Thanksgiving for Awakened to Grace
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
It is right, and a good and joyful thing,
always and everywhere to give thanks to you,
Awakening God, who created heaven and earth and everything in them.
From the emptiness of space you raised up dust and particles.
You gave rise to order and structure, including human life.
You stirred in us the likeness of your own image.
All creation was awakened to you!
When we became intoxicated by our own pursuit of sovereignty.
You never left our side. You stayed by us and provided for us.
Here we are today, stirred by your grace.
Here we are today, ready to be awakened.
Here we are today, blessed to be a blessing.
And so, with everyone on earth and all the company of heaven
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ.
He taught us how to pray.
He taught us how to relate to scripture.
He taught us about silence and fasting.
He taught us about Sabbath.
He showed us service. He revealed what a true servant’s heart is like. Opposing the powers of this world, he fought against oppression and forces of evil. He calls on us to do the same.
The birth of your Church made a new connection possible for us.
In your Church we remember all that Jesus did while he was living, and all he continues to do in his resurrection. We follow his lead and do as he did.
On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread,
gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me."
When the supper was over he took the cup,
gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Drink from this, all of you; this is an outpouring of the new covenant
for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
And so, in remembrance of these mighty things Jesus did,
we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving.
We are a holy and living sacrifice.
We are united to Christ's offering for us.
We proclaim this mystery of faith.
Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.
Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here,
and on these gifts of bread and wine.
Make them be for us the awakening presence of Christ himself,
that we may be for the world agents of his redeeming grace.
By your Spirit make us awakened to Christ,
awakened to each other, and awakened to all the world.
Then when Christ comes to see the progress of his mission, he will be able to sit at table with us because salvation will be whole.
Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,
all honor and glory is yours, gracious God, now and for ever.
Amen.
And also with you.
